Dear Friends,
Being a member of LFNY is a commitment, not to the game, but to each other. Our game has change over the years and will continue to do so. We've done COD, UO, Purple Haze, CS, COD2, COD4... but it has always been about the people.
In the beginning I made several Admin Manuals that explained the rules, the game play, enforcement, etc. Each one revised several times as things progressed. Most of the time to assist Pete in presenting clarification amongst everyone. We'll it's time to change that.
This isn't about the rules, it isn't about how the game is played. It's about the people. We come to LFNY to have fun and enjoy a great game. That enjoyment is not just from the game, but from each other. We could be playing solitaire and still be having a great time because we're first and foremost friends; an online family.
Of course we have some rules that govern supporting our game style and those must be maintained. However, they are merely a foundation upon what we are building. So with that in mind, I have provided below what it means to be a member of LFNY. What our responsibilities are. What is the expectation I have for looking at our Admins, at each of us. It's not just a responsibility to the game, but to each other AND to others out in the community that are groups of friends trying to do the same thing. So please see the following that will govern LFNY:
OUR SHARED RESPONSIBILITIES
LFNY's goal is to be known and respected as a NoRnG Tactical Stealth Hunt Community. As a truly unique community with a proud history, we play an important role in representing this style of game play. To perpetuate this, each member of the LFNY family has three Shared Responsibilities:
1) We Have A Responsibility To Our Players
We must address the needs of our players, provide advice, support and clarification where needed and always with the highest level of integrity and respect.
2) We Have A Responsibility To Each Other
We are first and foremost friends. We must treat our teammates with respect, champion our remarkable diversity, share the responsibility for our successes, and accept accountability for our failures.
3) We Have A Responsibility To LFNY
We must put LFNY's long-term interests ahead of personal short-term gains, and provide a superior gaming experience for ourselves and our players. We must respect the various approaches of others and take an active role in the communities where we play. We must take what those before us have given us and extend our legacy for those who will come after us.
I will be calling on each of you for things that I may need assistance with. I expect us to promote LFNY, and I'm not talking about advertising. I'm talking about promoting what it means to be LFNY.
LFNY is still a very unique experience. I haven't seen anyone capture what we have here. What we have is still very different from what is out there and I will do whatever is needed to maintain that. I expect this of us all.
Please consider that "we are each other's reason for playing LFNY" and that is what we will represent. Thank you and I know you will all put this forward as the first and foremost priority of LFNY.
Regards,
~ {LFNY}Sgt.Powers Site Administrator, Head Admin.
